Sculpture in Context 2021

Photosynthesis by Conall O’Caoimh

Photosynthesis was selected for ‘Sculpture in Context’ 2021 at the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin.

Made from fused-glass, polished concrete and steel, it is 2.8m tall.

The sculpture celebrates how sunlight triggers the process of growth in plants – the energy of the sun enables the plant to break down Carbon Dioxide and convert it to the sugars on which our life depends.

I was over the moon that my piece was positioned right in front of the classic Great Palm House. Thank you SinC.
